A couple of decades ago, 'internet' was considered a gate opening which would lead to a completely new world. It proved to be true. It was the time that people would love to use it for web search and email. The era of dial up modems and connectivity in KBs were the main sources. With the passage of time immense diversified revolutionary advancements in the technology resulted to open new horizons. Internet is not only the source of web search but thanks to IP based data communication protocols, internet is the life of technology today. Hundreds of other dimension including but not limited to cell phones, tabs, computers, electronic gadgets, medical equipment have benefited from the advancements in the Internet.
Whenever you talk to a common person on this planet about the word Internet it definitely strikes to consideration about speed and bandwidth. Fiber Optics in the form of FTTx solutions and wireless in the form of 3G and 4G have resolved long existing problems of bandwidth and speed.
Scientists, engineers and technology experts are experimenting ''Internet of Things'' today. It will make the communication techniques cross the conventional boundary of HTTP using TCP/IP. IoT would allow other invented communication protocols feel proud by being utilized and innovated. Certainly it will transform the way we live, work and play. IoT surely offers impressive benefits but it also presents massive challenges.
It is a big challenge for developers and designers to integrate Internet based sensors and devices together and communicate. Multiple organizations have taken the steps towards developing standars and set of ideas to mitigate this problem. Although at initial stage the sensors and devices would cost a considerable amount and would not be in reach of common man but once the industry standards are accepted the IoT industry can make it in common man's aproach by large scale developments.
IoT would not only resolve our daily life problems but would also introduce a completely new range of luxuries to the life. Just imagin the cars, roads, traffic signals and padestrians all equipped with IoT based sensors and devices. Any road side accident would automatically iform the ambulance and nearest hospital recieves the alert, the patient's data autmatically collected at the doctor's desk before he reached the hospital. This would work as life saving opportunity in case a person is badly injured in road side accident and loses conciousness. The IoT based gadgets would work automatically in collaboration with ambulance, hospital, doctors and other concerned persons to save the life.
Just consider about your house if it becomes so smart that each single item placed inside your house looks like a smart living thing and each one coordinating and collaborating with the other one to make your life easy.
